The Blood Pact

The Blood Pact

Chapter 1: A Deal with the Devil

The city of Ravenshade had its fair share of myths—stories of ghosts lurking in alleyways, whispers of cursed bloodlines, and the legend of the immortal man who never aged.

Damien Laurent never believed in fairy tales.

As a private investigator, his world was built on evidence, logic, and cold facts. But when he was hired to investigate a string of disappearances, all the clues led to one name.

Lucian Graves.

A name that had appeared in crime reports for over a century, yet the man himself had never aged a day.

It was impossible.

So why, when Damien finally came face to face with Lucian, did the man smirk like he had been waiting for him all along?

Chapter 2: The Immortal and the Cynic

Lucian was exactly as the legends described—tall, elegant, timeless, his golden eyes sharp as a blade.

“So,” Lucian mused, swirling a glass of deep red wine (or was it something else?), “you finally found me.”

Damien crossed his arms. “What are you?”

Lucian chuckled. “Straight to the point. I like that.” He leaned forward, voice a husky whisper. “I’m the thing that keeps men like you awake at night.”

Damien’s jaw tightened. “You’re playing games.”

Lucian smirked. “And yet, you came looking for me.”

Damien hated that he was right.

Because despite everything—despite the warnings, the disappearances, the rumors—he couldn’t walk away.

Not from him.

Chapter 3: The Price of Knowing

The deeper Damien dug into Lucian’s past, the more disturbing the truth became.

Lucian Graves had been alive for over two hundred years.

And the reason?

A blood pact—an ancient curse that granted him immortality in exchange for something far worse.

“I didn’t ask for this,” Lucian admitted one night, standing on the rooftop, staring at the city below. “I was tricked. And now, I’m trapped.”

Damien frowned. “Then break it.”

Lucian laughed bitterly. “If only it were that simple.”

Damien studied him—the exhaustion in his golden eyes, the weight of centuries on his shoulders.

For the first time, he didn’t see a monster.

He saw a man who had been alone for far too long.

Chapter 4: The Kiss That Changed Everything

Damien should have walked away.

But he didn’t.

Instead, he found himself drawn to Lucian—his wit, his loneliness, the way he carried his curse like a cross he never asked for.

And when Lucian kissed him one night, Damien didn’t pull away.

It was desperate, raw—two souls clashing in a way that defied time itself.

“I’ll find a way to free you,” Damien whispered against his lips.

Lucian exhaled shakily. “You’re making a mistake.”

Damien smirked. “Wouldn’t be my first.”

And just like that, he sealed his fate.

Chapter 5: The Blood Oath

Breaking the curse required one thing—a willing sacrifice.

Lucian had spent centuries refusing to let anyone die for him.

So when Damien offered his own blood, Lucian lost control.

“You idiot,” Lucian growled, gripping Damien’s wrist. “You don’t know what you’re doing.”

Damien smirked, even as pain burned through his veins. “I know exactly what I’m doing.”

Lucian clenched his jaw. “And what if this kills you?”

Damien exhaled. “Then at least you’ll finally be free.”

Lucian stared at him, something breaking inside of him.

Then, finally, he kissed him—one last time.

And when the ritual began, the city trembled.

Epilogue: The Man Who Chose Love Over Time

Lucian’s curse was broken.

For the first time in two hundred years, he was mortal again.

And Damien?

He survived. Barely.

But when he woke, Lucian was right there beside him, eyes full of something Damien had never seen before.

Hope.

Freedom.

Love.

“Guess you’re stuck with me now,” Damien murmured.

Lucian smirked. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Because in the end, Damien hadn’t just saved Lucian.

He had chosen him.

And that?

That was more powerful than any curse.
