Racing Hearts

Chapter 1: Rivals on the Road

The roar of engines. The smell of burning rubber. The blur of neon lights on the track.

Liam Hayes and Nate Carter had once ruled the underground racing scene. They were rivals, they were partners, and for a time—they were in love.

But love wasn’t enough.

Liam was reckless, always chasing speed, always pushing limits. Nate was precise, controlled, calculating his every move on and off the track.

Their passion burned hot—too hot.

Then came the crashes, the fights, the bitter words neither of them could take back.

So they did what racers did best.

They ran.

Liam left for Europe, signing with a pro team. Nate stayed behind, settling into a stable life with another rider.

For years, they didn’t look back.

Until fate brought them to the same track once again.

Chapter 2: The Past Never Stays Buried

The Storm City Grand Prix was a legendary race, drawing the best riders from across the world. Liam hadn’t planned on competing—until he saw Nate’s name on the list.

When they finally locked eyes across the paddock, it was like the years had never passed.

Liam smirked. “Still riding safe, Carter?”

Nate crossed his arms. “Still riding like you have a death wish?”

Liam chuckled, stepping closer. “Maybe I do. But then again, you were always the one who kept me alive.”

Nate’s jaw tightened. “Not anymore.”

But even as he said it, Liam could see the hesitation in his eyes.

Maybe, just maybe, some races weren’t finished yet.

Chapter 3: Racing Against Time

The night before the big race, Liam found himself standing outside Nate’s garage.

“You really want to do this?” Nate asked, leaning against his bike. “Because last time, we nearly killed each other.”

Liam exhaled. “Last time, we were kids trying to outrun everything. I don’t want to run anymore.”

Nate hesitated. “We both moved on, Liam.”

Liam stepped closer, voice low. “Did we?”

Silence.

Then Nate whispered, “I used to dream about you. About us.”

Liam’s heart pounded. “Then let’s stop dreaming.”

And when Nate kissed him, it was like the years had never passed.

Chapter 4: The Final Lap

Race day arrived.

They lined up at the start, engines growling beneath them.

Liam smirked. “Winner buys dinner?”

Nate smirked back. “Winner gets whatever he wants.”

The lights turned green.

They tore down the track, weaving through the chaos, pushing their limits just like they always had.

And when they crossed the finish line, it didn’t matter who won.

Because in the end, they had both found their way back to each other.

Epilogue: No More Running

Months later, they weren’t just rivals.

They were teammates.

Lovers.

Partners—on and off the track.

Because some races never really end.

They just find new roads to take.
