Beyond the Skyline

Beyond the Skyline

Chapter 1: Strangers in the Sky

High above the city, where steel and glass reached for the heavens, Ethan found solace. He was an architect—young, ambitious, but tired. His life revolved around blueprints and deadlines, but the view from unfinished skyscrapers gave him a rare moment of peace.

One evening, as the sunset painted the skyline in hues of gold and violet, Ethan climbed to the top of his latest project—a tower still under construction. He wasn’t expecting company.

“You’re trespassing, you know,” a voice called out.

Startled, Ethan turned to see a man perched casually on a steel beam, legs dangling over the edge. The stranger had jet-black hair tousled by the wind and a confident smirk that didn’t belong on a construction site.

“And you are?” Ethan asked, raising an eyebrow.

The stranger leaned back, hands behind his head. “Sky. I just… like high places.”

Ethan narrowed his eyes. “You’re not supposed to be here.”

Sky grinned. “Neither are you.”

That was the beginning of everything.

Chapter 2: The Gravity Between Us

Sky wasn’t an architect. He wasn’t an engineer or a worker. He was just a man who loved climbing buildings for the thrill of it. Free-spirited, reckless, and completely unlike Ethan, who planned every step of his life.

Despite their differences, they kept meeting at the same spot—on top of the unfinished skyscraper.

“You ever wonder what it’s like to just… let go?” Sky asked one night, staring at the city lights below.

Ethan, arms crossed, shook his head. “No. I build things so people don’t have to worry about falling.”

Sky chuckled. “Maybe that’s why I like you. You keep everything steady.”

Ethan turned to him, something stirring in his chest. “And you… make me want to look beyond what I know.”

Sky’s smirk softened. “Guess that makes us even.”

Chapter 3: Cracks in the Foundation

The more time they spent together, the harder it became to ignore the pull between them. But while Ethan built his future with careful precision, Sky lived moment to moment, never staying in one place too long.

“You’re going to leave, aren’t you?” Ethan asked one evening.

Sky exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck. “It’s what I do.”

Ethan clenched his fists. “Why?”

Sky hesitated before answering. “Because no matter how much I love a place, eventually, I have to move on.”

Ethan’s chest ached. “And people?”

Sky looked at him then, something raw in his gaze. “That’s different.”

But neither of them knew how to close the distance between them.

Chapter 4: The Fall

Days passed, and Sky stopped showing up. Ethan tried to focus on work, but the city felt emptier without him. Then, one stormy night, as he stood atop the skyscraper, he heard a familiar voice.

“Miss me?”

Ethan turned, heart hammering. Sky was there, drenched from the rain, his usual confidence replaced by something else—something vulnerable.

“I got scared,” Sky admitted. “Scared that staying would make me forget how to move.”

Ethan took a step closer. “And?”

Sky swallowed. “And I don’t want to run anymore.”

Ethan didn’t hesitate. He grabbed Sky’s collar, pulling him into a kiss, rain falling around them as the city lights shimmered below.

Epilogue: Building a Future

Sky never left. He still climbed buildings, but now, Ethan was always there to make sure he didn’t fall.

And together, they built something unshakable—not a skyscraper, but a love that reached beyond the skyline.
